Sustainder was founded in the Netherlands in 2017 and started production that same year in the former Philips, Industria and Indal lighting factory in Emmen (province of Drenthe). We are funded by NOM, a state investment and development fund made up of three Dutch provinces and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy. The production facility is part of Technologies Added, the first shared smart factory in the Netherlands. Since the launch of our first luminaire, Anne, we have continuously expanded our portfolio and adapted it to our customers’ needs. Today, more than 100,000 Sustainder luminaires provide smart lighting in over 10 countries – and this is only the beginning.

First of all, we aim to provide the highest level of safety in public spaces by offering some of the most energy-efficient luminaires in the world. In doing so, we help municipalities reduce costs, lower COâ‚‚ emissions and minimise light pollution.
